VERTICAL VISION is the picture book of the renowned mountain photographers Menno Boermans and Melvin Redeker.

In this stunning work of photography they capture the all-embracing experience that climbing can represent for humankind,

Menno Boermans (b. 1977) studied journalistic photography in Amsterdam. He nowadays focuses on skiing and
mountaineering, all around the globe. His photos are published in international media such as Alpinist Magazine,
National Geographic Magazine, Climb and Vertical. His reportages have earned him numerous awards, including a
Special Mention in the Banff Mountain Photography Competition and two prizes in the annual Zilveren Camera
awards for photojournalism. He has participated in expeditions to West Papua, the Chilean Andes and the Karakoram.

Melvin Redeker (b. 1969), studied business economics. He has a passion for climbing steep, technically demanding
peaks and he has organised five expeditions to the Himalayas. He has made several first ascents, including the
opening of a new route on Thalay Sagar (6904m) in the Garhwal Himalayas, India. His photos are published in
magazines such as Vertical, Alpinist Magazine and the American Alpine Journal. Melvin works at the Johan Cruyff
College in Amsterdam, where he coaches top-class sportspeople in the development of their business acumen.
